Viking Construction served as general manager on the $18 million Albion Street new construction project in Bridgeport, Conn.  This 2 year project transformed a contaminated, unused site into a mixed-use, sustainable housing and healthcare facility.

Viking incorporated many sustainable building features into this project. This included energy-efficient windows, extra insulation in the walls, and LEED-certified green roofs on the medical building and on the one-story hallways that connect to the dental clinic. Additionally, Viking built a low-maintenance Zen garden courtyard in the dental center.

Albion Street now serves as an example of urban development and public housing for other communities in the state and country that look to revitalize neglected inner cities.
