Anthony Sr. experienced a career highlight when he was honored by the American Cancer Society at its annual “Comedy Against Cancer” fundraising event on September 28, 2023. It was a night to remember – filled with hilarity thanks to emcee Motts Pelazza and comedians Billy Garan and Steve Shaffer. The event, which was attended by more than 250 supporters, happily raised more than $215,000 for the ACS, with $45,000 dedicated to its “Pay-If” Research Fund to cover ongoing research that becomes unfunded. The ACS also presented Lori Brayton of the Daphne Seybolt Culpepper Memorial Foundation with the 2023 C. Anthony & Jean Whittingham Philanthropic Award. It was a night to remember!
