Viking fully updated and refurbished 254 individual apartment units in this assisted-living complex. The $32.5 million project included renovating a 12-story building, a 3-story structure, and a connected community center.
Since the complex was fully occupied and operational during renovations, Viking had to work floor by floor (starting on the 12th floor) coordinating with residents moving out and then back into their apartments.
Viking converted some units in the three-story building to be handicap-accessible, with wider entryways and hallways and updated bathrooms. Each apartment was upgraded to include granite countertops, EVP flooring, stone dust composite showers and surrounds, and energy-efficient appliances. Viking added panels to windows so owners can hook up and control their own portable AC units.
Viking fully renovated and updated the large community center, administrative offices and the nursing station. All heating systems, fire pumps, sprinkler system and heads, electrical, and plumbing were replaced or updated.
